When we receive an item from someone to blast, we look it over for dents and weak points, rust, special instructions from the customer. If the item needs a handle, cap, etc. masked off, we do so then. All manufacture tags, marking on seals, price tags have to be removed.

I started painting in 1977. In the years to follow, I found little time to paint, while my husband and I raised our family of two boys. The love and interest remained with me and once again I took up the art in 1986.

During the years, I have collected all kinds of coffee pots, creamer/sugar sets, butter dishes, metal picnic baskets, cream cans and milk cans, tin pieces of all shapes and sizes, but found it frustrating to prep them for painting.

The process seemed too long and labor intensive. I expressed an interest in learning to blast, and you know the rest of the story. My husband and sons have helped me with this journey by teaching me the finer points of blasting, priming and becoming a business person with a website.

I have been a member of the Idaho Chapter of Heritage Artists since 1988, a member of the SDP since 1988 and a DecoArt Helping Artist.  image
